Our Story

Born from a Mother's Need

Honey is a real person, a Florida mom of seven, every one of them born by natural childbirth, and she has spent years baking lactation cookies for her friends, her community, and her own daughters as they became mothers themselves.

What began at her kitchen table is now Honey's Baking Company. Every cookie is a marriage of culinary art and time-honored traditional baking, crafted with premium galactagogues like brewer's yeast, flaxseed, and whole oats. We don't just bake cookies; we create a daily ritual of nourishment that supports both body and spirit.

We're a new company, but this recipe isn't new, it's been tested the way the best recipes always are: on family. Each batch is still made in small quantities, because we believe nurture should never be mass-produced.

Honey has been in the food service industry for over 35 years. At 20, she started out owning a sandwich shop in Los Angeles, making daily deliveries to the courthouses and federal buildings across downtown L.A. For 17 of those 35 years, she was also an operational partner of a resort hotel and fine dining restaurant. Today she holds a Florida Food Handler Certificate and is a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM), so every batch is baked with the same care and safety standards as a professional kitchen.

The Organic Difference

Organic Isn't a Buzzword. It's in the Recipe

Everything you eat while breastfeeding reaches your baby. We make every effort to source organic ingredients, and when that is not possible, we select the highest-quality alternative available. Here's why it matters.

Bioavailability

More of what works

Organic, minimally processed ingredients retain more of their natural nutritional profile. Organic oats, organic flaxseed and organic unbleached flour carry more antioxidants and minerals than conventionally grown alternatives, and when your body can actually absorb what you're eating, the results are more consistent.

What You Avoid

Simple ingredients, thoughtfully chosen

At Honey's Baking Company, I believe nourishing food starts with a straightforward ingredient list. That's why we avoid artificial colors, artificial flavors, and artificial preservatives, and choose organic ingredients where available. Our recipes also include non-GMO brewer's yeast and toasted wheat germ, selected for their distinctive flavor and naturally occurring nutrients, including protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Every ingredient is chosen with care, so you can feel confident knowing what goes into each bite.

What Your Baby Receives

Nourishment begins with caring for yourself

Breast milk provides your baby with the nourishment they need, while your own body needs additional energy and nutrients during lactation. That's why we thoughtfully combine ingredients such as organic whole wheat flour, organic eggs, and organic peanut butter, foods that contribute protein, fiber, and other naturally occurring nutrients to a varied, balanced diet. Caring for yourself with satisfying, thoughtfully prepared food is one meaningful way to support yourself while caring for your baby.

Yes, Even the Chocolate

Because quality matters in every ingredient

Chocolate is part of the experience, so we choose Ghirardelli for its rich flavor and dependable quality, even though it is not organic. From start to finish, every component is chosen with the same care we bring to the finished recipe, because we believe that nourishment should still be delicious.

The Tradition

The Baker's Lab

Inspired by tradition and made with premium ingredients, each cookie is thoughtfully crafted for breastfeeding moms who want a satisfying treat made with care. We blend time-honored baking with nutrient-dense staples and organic ingredients whenever possible. These cookies are food, not medicine, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

Brewer's Yeast

Traditional Lactation Support

Brewer's yeast has been used for generations as a dietary supplement for breastfeeding moms. It's rich in B vitamins, iron, chromium, and protein, and remains a popular ingredient in traditional lactation-supportive recipes.

Flaxseed

Nutrient-rich plant food

Ground flaxseed provides omega 3 fatty acids, fiber, protein, and lignans (plant compounds with antioxidant properties). Flax is often included in recipes for breastfeeding moms due to its nutrient profile and traditional use.

Whole Oats

Comforting whole grain

Organic rolled oats are a classic comfort food and a staple in many classic lactation-supportive recipes. They provide fiber, protein, and minerals such as manganese, magnesium, and zinc, along with B vitamins for both you and your baby.

Fenugreek

Herb with a long history of use

Organic fenugreek has a long history of traditional use among breastfeeding mothers. While it provides naturally occurring fiber, protein, and iron, we include it primarily for its distinctive maple-like flavor.

Wheat Germ

Nutrient-dense part of the wheat kernel

Wheat germ makes up only a small portion of the wheat berry but is rich in protein, vitamin E, omega 3s, B vitamins, and minerals, and has a pleasant nutty flavor. We include it for its nutrient density and taste.

Note: These cookies are intended as a nourishing snack for breastfeeding parents, not as a medical treatment or advice for low milk supply. If you have concerns about milk production or your baby's growth, please consult a qualified healthcare provider or lactation professional.

Stories from Real Mothers

Filtered by postpartum stage, because every week of the journey is different.

“I was skeptical about this even though a friend promised me that they would work. So, I tried them and guess what… they do work. Went back for a second dozen. Tried the Double Chocolate Fudge and absolutely loved the flavor. BTW, they worked too.”

“I absolutely love these lactation cookies! My baby was born at 36 weeks, and our breastfeeding journey was really difficult in the beginning. A couple of days after I started eating these cookies, I noticed an increase in my milk supply, and they became something I relied on to get my milk supply in for both of my breastfeeding journeys. I’m so thankful for the difference they’ve made for me. And the best part is, they taste amazing! I highly recommend them to any breastfeeding mom looking for a delicious treat to add to her routine or as a postpartum gift.”
