Our Story

Born from a Mother's Need

Honey is a real person, a Florida mom of seven — every one of them born by natural childbirth — and she has spent years baking lactation cookies for her friends, her community, and her own daughters as they became mothers themselves.

What began at her kitchen table is now Honey's Baking Company. Every cookie is a marriage of culinary art and nutritional science — crafted with premium galactagogues like brewer's yeast, flaxseed, and whole oats. We don't just bake cookies; we create a daily ritual of nourishment that supports both body and spirit.

We're a new company, but this recipe isn't new — it's been tested the way the best recipes always are: on family. Each batch is still made in small quantities, because we believe nurture should never be mass-produced.

Honey has been in the food service industry for over 35 years. At 20, she started out owning a sandwich shop in Los Angeles, making daily deliveries to the courthouses and federal buildings across downtown L.A. For 17 of those 35 years, she was also an operational partner of a resort hotel and fine dining restaurant. Today she holds a Florida Food Handler Certificate and is a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM), so every batch is baked with the same care and safety standards as a professional kitchen.

The Organic Difference

Organic Isn't a Buzzword. It's the Recipe.

Everything you eat while nursing reaches your baby. We make every effort to source organic ingredients, and when that is not possible, we select the highest-quality alternative available. Here's why it matters.

Bioavailability

More of what works

Organic, minimally processed ingredients retain more of their natural nutritional profile. Organic oats carry more antioxidants and minerals than conventionally grown alternatives — and when your body can actually absorb what you're eating, the results are more consistent.

What You Avoid

Nothing artificial, ever

Conventional baked goods — even those marketed to nursing moms — can carry pesticide residues, artificial preservatives, refined sugars, and bleached flours. These place unnecessary burden on a postpartum body already working hard to recover and produce milk.

What Your Baby Receives

Breast milk reflects your plate

The omega-3s in our flaxseed, the iron in our oats, and the B vitamins in our brewer's yeast don't just stay in your body — they make their way to your baby. Choosing organic and non-GMO ingredients is choosing the best possible start for your newborn.

Yes, even the chocolate. Our chocolate chips are certified organic, our honey is raw, and our nut butters are artisan-made — because you'd never accept low-quality ingredients in something made for your baby, and we won't accept them in something made for you.
The Science

The Baker's Lab

Every ingredient is chosen for purpose — not filler. Here's the science behind each bite.

Brewer's Yeast

Prolactin support

Rich in B-vitamins, iron, and chromium. A traditional galactagogue used for centuries to naturally stimulate milk production.

Flaxseed

Hormonal balance

Packed with phytoestrogens and omega-3 fatty acids that may help regulate hormones involved in lactation. Also linked to healthy hair, skin, and bone strength, flaxseed is rich in protein, fiber, iron, and B vitamins, and contains more antioxidant-rich lignans than any other plant-based food.

Whole Oats

Supply boosting

A time-honored comfort food for nursing mothers. Oats contain saponins that may support healthy prolactin levels. We use organic rolled oats for a heartier, tender bite and the best flavor in every cookie. They're a great source of fiber, protein, and minerals like manganese, magnesium, and zinc, plus B vitamins.

Fenugreek

Clinical heritage

One of the most researched galactagogues. Contains diosgenin, a compound that may influence milk production pathways. We use organic fenugreek, rich in fiber, protein, and iron, which may also help stabilize blood sugar and support healthy cholesterol. Grown without synthetic pesticides, for maximum purity and nutrient density.

Wheat Germ

Nutrient-dense

Though it's just 2-3% of the wheat berry, the germ is its most nutrient-dense part -- a concentrated source of protein, Vitamin E, omega-3s, B vitamins, and minerals, with a rich, nutty flavor.
